August 08 - Structures

Had this shot in mind as soon as I saw the theme.

Fortunately I needed a trip to Edinburgh this month anyway but when I got there I thought I might be struggling to get the weather for this shot as all I seemed to be getting was rain. Anyway thought that there would likely be some broken clouds so headed down about 1.5hrs before sunset with the intention of waiting around till after sunset in the hope that I would get some nice light somewhere in that 2.5hr period.

Fortunately I was lucky and the light became pretty good 20mins in and I got this:

The Forth Bridges

Canon 40D | 10mm | 120s | F9 | ISO 100 | ND110

PP - Rocks at bottom lightened, curves.

Re: Scotland's Finest

That is stunning Ally. Really lovely light and a great composition. It's going to take something special to beat this I reckon.

Re: Scotland's Finest

Absolutely first class.
Great subject, composition, light, timing & exposure. Did I leave anything out?

Should be a strong contender.
