Question Enquiry about HD tv

hello

forgive my not understanding, but here goes: I have a Sony Bravia HD LCD tv with Freeview.

1. When a tv programe is in HD and you have a HD TV, do you have to press any button on your remote to receive it, or is reception automatic?

2. Also,on the BBC when they say press the red button to interact, where is the red button on the remote? The only one saying "i" that i can see is one like: "i+" and its not red either!!!!!

thanks in advance.

jason

Re: Enquiry about HD tv

Hi Jasoni, and welcome to the AVForums.

First of all, you do not get any HD TV programs from Freeview - the only sources at this moment in time are Sky, Freesat and Virgin, with most HD channels being on Sky HD, this being subscription based. Then, provided you have the correct connections between the appropriate STB, either HDMI or Component, when you tune into an HD channel, you will automatically receive HD.

As for the red button, does your TV remote not have four coloured buttons, RED, GREEN, YELLOW and BLUE? The RED one is the one you need to push for the BBCi.

Cheers,

Martin.

p.s. Sometimes on Sony TV Remotes, there are four buttons with RED, GREEN, YELLOW and BLUE dots on them - those are the ones I'm referring to above.

Re: Enquiry about HD tv

All Sony remotes have the red, yellow, green and blue buttons in common with all makes of set which have Freeview built in. There is a coloured mark by the button. The button itself is not actually red in many cases. This system has been around for several years as it also is the control point for Teletext.

Re: Enquiry about HD tv

don't mistake The Red button with the Red button that turns your TV off or you'll be there all day.
