Help buying a 52" LCD for living room
Hi Guys looking at getting a new tv for living room want it to be 52" anyone know for any good review sites or can recomend some sets 2k max budget.
Samsung, Sharp and Son are the only 52" models ?
Then you have Samsung who do 500000:1 dynamic contrast but whats that in real terms ?
The TV will be hooked up to my media center pc running full 1080p, freeview via tv card and blue ray writer/rom drive for movies etc.

Don't even look at the contrast ratios, they mean nothing. I would get the kdl52w4000. Great tv.

thanks guys for the input.
I have just got back from the USA where my dad bought the latest model of Sharp Aquos which was 1080p contrast of 27000:1 and 120htz and was amazing pic so got the bug now for full 1080p.
The aquos over here though dont seem to be too far advanced.

he has the SE94 series sharp right?yeah it seems a really special model but it doesnt come here and generally sharp have banding

Yes thats the exact model it has leather around the front of the screen and has special edition written on it and the pic is amazing I wish they would bring it over here the 1080i cable HD pictures looked superb the national geographic and movie channels were out of this world it beat all the other models in the store at the time for pic all lined up the sharp was the best by far even the guys in the best buy store said so. |

The Sharps I've seen over here have been woeful. I've never been able to fathom why they're so popular in the states. Maybe their models are a lot better than ours.

Yeah I totally agree over here they are under speced and not very pretty but that latest model as I said in the best buy store I visited they had all the latest models just released of the sony, samsung and the sharp all in a line all 50" models and from a distance the sharp was by far the best and up close and they all had the same feed of cable TV HD. |

like the poster above, ive never quite understood the popularity of sharp tvs. go with either samsung or sony. both are quite amazing especially the 7 series.
