Will a US PS3 play 1080/25?

Well it's actually more comlicated than this but

I'm using arcsoft total media extreme to make DVD "Blu Ray" discs AVCHD, H.264 discs using 1080i video captured from a sky HD Box (similar discs can be made from component output from a BR or HDDVD player) using a Hauppauge HD PVR.

The discs are encoded as 1080i/25 which play fine on my UK PS3 with the latest firmware but not my US one-also with the latest firmware (it just produces a blank picture).

I am going to retry and burn discs in another format but what will I need to burn to play on both PS3's?

I am not sure whether the HDPVR can capture/produce1080/30 from a 1080i/50 source that I assume the sky HD/BR/HDDVD players will produce from UK discs. But this might be the best bet.

I suspect that similar problems have occurrred from people producing similar discs from HD camcorders.

yes it seems the us ps3's dont like 25fps one way to get around it is to burn the .mts file from the discs "stream" folder onto a disc in the udf 2.50 format then just select the file from the ps3 it seems to play fine then!
