Hi There,
I am trying to remove a Pioneer head unit. It should obviously be simple. Just push in the little sliders at each side, then pull it out.
But............ the little sliders wont slide in !!! As if something is stopping them from going in.
Does anybody have any ideas to help? It's driving me nuts.
Cheers
Kev

if it was infront of me i could get it out in 2 mins heh.. the keys generally wont go in if you bought an exdemo model and have screws in the slows to stop ppl nicking them from the demo stands in shops.. if there is no screws stopping it, then it depends on your car as to how hard it will be to remove.. i have a special hook tool which allows me to unhook the cage with the stereo still attached, a flat blade screw driver does the same, but makes a mess of your dashboard.. some cars allow you to remove a piece of the dash with the stereo still in it.. what car have you got?

If the radio has been fitted correctly you will find it isn't mounted into a cage so the removal keys are no use.
Toyota's normaly mount brackets to the radio and then bolt the whole unit in, then the dash is then mounted over it.
