Sony t610 , release date ??

Does anyone know when the new sony is out, the T610 ???

it has a talktime of 14 hours, and this is more important to me than any of the gadgets that they put on a phone

My GX-10 just doesnt cut it for battery, mind you my bill last month was £470 so I do use it a fair bit to be fair, so are there any other phones with superb batterey life that i should be looking at ???

If you don't mind Nokia phones (I do :D) the Nokia 6310i has brilliant battery life (in real terms not manufacturers figures)... two weeks without charging is not uncommon

I had a 6310i for a while and the battery is awesome but i had 2 screens replaced on it in 3 months and that was enough for me to give up on it.
The thing that ****** me off about Nokia is they told me I shouldnt keep it in my pocket as this is what was causing the screen to go faulty!!!!!

changed it from an 8210 that had 3 screens replaced too.

Then again my dad got one in his merc as part of the comms pack and his has been perfect.

Lo all,

The release of the T610 has been put back until mid July from what I can gather. It was due to be released about ......... now but for some reason this is now not the case.

It looks a very nice phone but for some reason they still use a STN screen, which is crud to try and read on a sunny day, would have been much better to use a TFT one like the Samsungs.

I'd also be very weary of the talk/standby times quoted by Sony Ericsson. The P800 that I had stated that a talk time of 13 hours and a standby of 400 hours should be the average. This turned out to be so wrong it was laughable. 20-30 minutes talk time a day and say a few pictures and you were lucky if you got two days out of it without re-charging. At first I thought I had a duff battery but speaking to people in various forums it seemed the norm. This was so much of a problem for me I ended up selling the phone.

The best thing to do, is wait a few weeks after the release date and then read through a few Sony Ericsson forums and see what the lay of the land is. If all isn't well battery wise it will soon come to light in the forum.

Cheers

Dave

Gary

Really ??? !

was there a price on it ????

I am wondering what the upgrade price is, I ca get one from Germany for just under £300 offline so I am hoping it will be less than £150 as an upgrade, possibly less than £100, if I remeber te t68 was £430 offlie and around £160 as an upgrade when it came out.

had my 610 since tuesday
and quite impressed with the battery life. given it quite a bit of use playing with the all the features, lots of file transfers etc, and knowing colour screens can eat up power, was suprised how slow it went down.
2 days it was still over half full, which i know doesnt sound much, but as i said it was being used loads.

So the lesson I've learned here is:-

Don't take any notice of what the nice lady on the Sony Ericsson Customer Service line tells you, as she really hasn't got a clue when the company's mobile's are to be released

Cheers
