That's June dun 'n' dusted and with it the longest day
Make the most guys and gals winters on its way

On to the voting..

Thumbnail page is HERE (http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/photo-comp/index.html) to quickly check you haven't missed any entries.

As always a huge thank you to our sponsors for the prizes on offer HERE (http://www.avforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=7118795&postcount=1) :smashin:

The closing date for votes will be shown at the top of the poll and don't forget that all votes are public so no voting for yourself :nono:

Also if you have entered a picture then you are expected to vote, else all votes accrued by you will be disallowed :lesson:

Important
The last forums update now allows guests to also vote and obviously this doesn't log a user name against the vote :god:
For any other poll this wouldn't be an issue but as we don't allow forum members to vote for themselves in the competition then I'm having to treat the fact that guests can vote a little differently!
Therefore can I ask that if you are already a member of AVF to please log in before voting, to those who lurk on the forums and wish to vote then please feel free to register before voting, registration is free and you'll be joining an invaluable community

Any instances of guest voting will be removed, sorry

Loads of great entries this month, but in the end I went for weaviemx5 - I actually missed this first time around, and saw it this evening on the thumbnail page - lovely shot with great colours - very nice.

I personally thought the following were very good as well, and deserve a mention:

mucca_D, Tobers, UrbanT, Butch499 & ksten

but as I say, all great entries and well done to all those who entered..:smashin:

Tobers for me, love the cleanliness of the sky and the crispness of the shot - and the splash !

Steves shot for me. It was a toss up between this and rizingstars entry but Steve's won through as I like the calmness and simplicity of the shot.

Thanks for the votes so far guys :)

My vote (group decision with my wife, Hayley) is for Steve's Ironbridge shot because I'm a sucker for a nice landscape! It was a close decision between this and Kevins' Ipod-Cassette as I really liked the play on words and past/future reflection. Also, it's a complete opposite shot to one I'd take, maily because I don't have the required imagination or backwards writing ability ;)

Cheers

I went for Mr Greens :smashin: very nice reflection indeedy

The three that stood out for me were Tobers, ksten and rizingstar.
I went for ksten in the end because it was just so eyecatching, so to speak.

Well done to everyone, some excellent entries.

Such a lot of choice! But I think it's Garf's entry that does it for me this month. I love the colour of the sunset and like the use of the car for the reflection - it's kind of two photo's in one.

I went for Weaviemx5's entry - just simply a great capture and bang on theme.

Also really liked rizingstar's entry - my second favourite I think, and in no particular order, Artie Fufkin, ksten, ovavu and butch499 all were great entries.

Well done to everyone who entered again.

Some great entries again this month.

For me it was a very close decision between:

rizingstar: a wonderfully picturesque scene that is somehow calming and dynamic at the same time! Lovely tones and effective PP.

mucca_D: A really interesting photograph. I like the motion of the prop, the shape of the reflection as it narrows towards the point and even the sun glinting off the metal.

pixelpixel: Very well seen, I like the composition and nice PP.

weaviemx5: A very pleasing photograph with lovely colours and nice texture caused by the slight ripples on the water.

In the end I've gone for rizingstar's entry but as I said it was really close!

Cheers.

Another great competition with a good variety of entries. For me, honourable mentions go to alfienoakes, Tobers and UrbanT, but I've finally voted for weaviemx5.

Hi There,

Rizingstar always had to be the favourite for this month with the theme and consistent excellent photos on topic (it makes me smile to see your photos in the pro magazines i read, truly, i'm proud to be in the competitions you enter...), but my vote goes to Macca D for the well executed opportunistic shot... well done...!

Well done everyone for getting an entry in . I had the best of intentions but ran out of time.

I really liked ovavu's entry as it was really close to what I wanted to do, but I couldn't find enough mirrors in time. Really like the feel of the image.

Kstens was excellently executed as always and is a real stunner. Love the high key treatment and the crispness.

I'm not really into landscapes as much as some on here, but I could definitely feel the quality in rizingstar's, Weaviemx5's and Stevegreen's, but for me personally Tobers' shot had something extra to it with the surreal splash.

However - as soon as I saw Mucca D's wonderfully captured aeroplane reflection, I knew it would stick in my mind. Love both the comp crop and the full version so that's where my vote goes this month. Well spotted!

What a crazy month this has been...;)

I have moved house, been away on so called 'holiday' and also managed to post in this months comp.

Just scanned over the images for this month and a few jumped out at me. I went for Tobers it was the splash that done it.

When looking over my images I think I might have used the wrong image. I do have some better images that are still on the camera but thats in a brown box. The only problem is I have a few of them around the house :suicide::grin:

Oh well, what will next month bring ?

Some very nice entries this month, mucca_D, rizingstar, weaviemx5, Biscuit761, Liquid101 and stevegreen are a just a few that I liked. But for me this month it's Tobers' excellent shot that is a winner. The landscape mirrored in the lake is superb, but it's a real 'togs shot. You see the splash and you know that the lake will be covered with ripples in just a few seconds, it tells a story. Great stuff!
Well done Tobers, the poll count is very close as I write, it will be a tight finish again this month :) Good luck to everyone that entered, see you here next month!

There were quite a few good entries this month. I liked alfienoakes' reflected castle, ksten's eye, netronelson's mirror and weaviemx5's lighthouse.

I went for Tobers splash in the end because of its simplicity and because it didn't have the heavy vignetting of some of the other entries.

I'm going for mucca_D.

This works at first glance as a fabulous picture in it's own right, then it hits you again as you notice the reflection. Brilliant.

What a great selection to choose from though - paranormalist is interesting; rizingstar is a cracking photo; amguard captured a good day out; alfienokes is serene; GaryK26 has a beautiful capture; kevin glover has a clever one; Garf shame it wasn't reflecting off a supercar; ksten a work of art; twadger moody-a-go-go; stevegreen has a verg good reflection; wievemx5 is very rich and captivating; tobers and that splash.

kevin glover's entry - on theme in a few different ways, clever and well put together. Lots of other good ones but this one swung it for me for it's originality.

Thanks Antpink, much appreciated mate.
My vote goes to Weaviemx5, lovely shot which is subtle as the reflection is not "in your face" as the colours in the sky and the little pools of light dotted around the image draw your eye into the image, vignette is a little heavy for me but that in no way detracts from a stunning shot.
Special mentions go to mucca-D for a great first entry and a very well seen and captured shot at the spur of the moment, I also liked entries from Sabretooth and motobug.

Rizingstar top of the shop :smashin: mate.

Netronelson gets my vote this month. There's something about the closeness of the subject lying on the wall, which is then countered by the emptiness of the reflected image making the person look very isolated. Very nice indeed.

Ta for votes & comments for mine so far too .

Mucca_D's gets my vote this month.

There were some cracking photo's (again), but I went for Mucca_D's as it was very original, and obviously required a bit of opportunism & quick thinking, but still on theme.

Well done to all entrants.

Whoosh, way to many to quote, but a big thank you all for your comments. :)

I do hope, now I have got my first entry out of the way I will get one in each month:thumbsup:

For me this month my vote goes to ksten. I just love the amount of detail and the work that has clearly gone into the entry. :smashin:

I am glad that my choice of theme has resulted in such a great and diverse selection of entries. There were just so many to choose from but pixelpixel's lept out at me so I voted for that. Good luck with month's theme whoever wins this month!

Runners up for me were: risingstar and weaviemx5, both lovely reflection shots, but in the end I decided to go for Tobers. Lovely clear, sharp photo, and I think the splash makes it different to what you would expect.
