Bedroom T.V. this time.

O.K. guys I’m back but this time I’ve got a little more time to play with; It’s your own fault I’m back to pester you by the way as you all did such a fantastic job of helping me sort out my main T.V. (See: I need some FAST help.) that in the end SWMBO was so imprested with it that she has said we should do the bedroom T.V. as well! Now who am I to argue with the boss, bless her. So this is what I’m looking for:

LCD or Plasma
1080p
24fps
100Hz
28” / 32”
£ 700.00 / £ 1000.00

Once again I would rather spend less if possible, what are your suggestions?

Chris.

Cool, that’s one on the list, any more contenders?

Re: Bedroom T.V. this time.

28" or 32" rules out Plasma, not available under 37" and all 1080p sets are 42"+

Sony W4000, Panasonic LZD80 and LZD85 are your best bets. Also, look at the Panasonic LXD85. Only 720p but at 32" the difference isn't hugely noticable and it's a bargain right now at just under £500 (Empire Direct with 10% off voucher code).

Reviews of all 4:

Re: Bedroom T.V. this time.

Once again thank you for your wonderful advice, well after taking that advice and doing some hunting around myself, looking at the specs Etc… I’m down to two options the 32W4000 and the TX32LZD85. Have any of you seen these two side by side or have anything to say about either one or is there nothing between them?

Re: Bedroom T.V. this time.

I've no idea, someone else might though.

The only hint is in the HDTVtest W4000 review, it says motion handling is good, but not as good as a decent 100Hz set. To me this hints at the Panasonic, they've complained about the 100Hz on the majority of LCDs yet not on that one.

That's the only thing i've been able to pick up from reviews, and having never demoed the LZD85 i can't really give any opinion on it's picture quality. I only suggested it from reputation.

Re: Bedroom T.V. this time.

I must admit that I was swaying towards the TX-32LZD85 and on a completely irrational note it would also complement the TH-42PZ85 you helped me pick as my main TV, also I’ll get free Panasonic 5 year warranty with it as well. I’m not in a big rush to sort this out so I’ll give it until mid next week before I make my final choice, so if anyone reading this has anything further to add please do.

Smile Re: Bedroom T.V. this time.

Hi,
This is an odd one , i too have been looking at the very same idea , putting a tv in the bedroom, i also have come down to the exact two your have listed, w4000 32 inch, and the pana 32TXLZD85.
I have been through so many reviews and they both have there pro's and con's in the end i think its down too your personal preference?
As you have the one down stairs then it's probably best go to the pana 32TXLZD85.
To me i'm looking more at the sony 32 w4000 as its design is a bit quirky and different , also when looking at both i really thought the sony held up its own , even in the motion handling and movement , ie (sports , football,) when not having 100hz, and only got 50hz, unlike the panasonic has 100hz.
But apparently in sept the W4500 is 100Hz, can i wait, can you????? Nope....

I also like the idea of it turning into a picture frame , the idea sounds good but if it works well who knows , PLEASE TELL, but putting a picture on screen i think would look good especially in a bedroom, etc

The colour on the w4000 is amazing , the pana is also good but i think the bravia engine shines through.
If you was in two minds then the panasonic is around £50-£100 cheaper in a lot of places than the w4000........
I'm going for the W4000 , if i can find any in stock, keep intouch and tell me what you go for , i'd be interested in knowing.....GOODLUCK ......
