My laptops seen better days, i was thinking of wiping it to start again from fresh to see if that helps. Problem is it never came with a windows disc and i never bothered to make a recovery disc, is there anything i can do?

As long as you have the license key on the laptop you can just borrow a CD with the same version of Windows and use that to do a clean install.
I would advise that you have access to another PC so you can download all the drivers etc that you forgot to download before you wiped the laptop (in my experience you always miss at least one :rolleyes: ). Also make sure you have everything you want to keep backed up somewhere else as you will lose everything.

If you never bothered to make a recovery disk then it is most likely that your recovery section is still stored on the hard drive of you computer and you simply need to find out how to do a factory default recovery for you particular machine.
Suggest you goto the website for you computer goto support and locate your model and somewhere in the faq is usually a method to access your factory recovery procedure. DO not confuse it with windows system restore.
