Hi guys
After having a complete headache with Ubuntu i decided to use Kubuntu i think that its so much better however sometimes when i select Kubuntu from the dual boot menu the kernel loads up but when the blue Kubuntu bar begins to load it sometimes freezes the only way to reboot is to pull out the laptop battery, does anyone else have this problem? and does anyone know how to fix it?
Cheers

You say 'sometimes', is it random, or is it a fault that you can re-create?
Selecting 'Recovery mode' at boot gives you a verbose output of what's going on during the boot process, any clues from that?

Hey there, its completely random before the load screen appears if you can get into the boot menu by pressing ESC you know that its not going to happen however sometimes when i press ESC the boot menu does not appear and continues to the kubuntu load screen which then freezes. During the boot process sometimes its says something about the buffer memory however its hard to read as it goes off after a few seconds

Move on and go with Foresight v2.0 and you will find the happy place

You didn't have the problem with Ubuntu? Aside from the desktop the distributions are basically identical, so it seems a bit odd. Perhaps there was some kind of CD error when you were installing.

Sounds like this might be hardware related, perhaps bad RAM. Does it dual-boot with Windows?
In my experience Windows is a bit more tolerant of dodgy memory whereas Linux will throw up errors. Try reseating the memory if you can access it, or swap it out if possible.
