can u give me any suggestions on dvds to play on my new tv set up.

Do a search mate , for best DTS dvd, or best dvd to demo my equipment etc.

Pearl Harbor ,Resident Evil,The Fast and the Furious,The Bone collector,What lies beneath ,all these have great picture and sound, obviously there are more dvd's out there that can show off your set up but I'll leave that up to you .:smoke:

Nah, they have Edge Enhancement.
Checkout Fifth Element, FOTR, Braveheart and animations like Shrek/Monsters Inc.

Hero region 3 for stunning surround sound and almost for picture as well

terminator mgm dvd,apollo 13 dts,titan ae,armageddon[criterion]toy story[ultimate],if your tv is part of the av set up these are good examples..if you are running dvd through tv speakers you probably wont notice to much.

The first disc I bought was The Mummy and it is still is great picture quality.
Also X-Men is good the scene at the end show how good black and white can look in colour (if that sound funny just take a look).
The best surround film I have heard is Willow but I only have Dolby Pro Logic.:(

I recently watched Harry Potter 2 and damn if that ain't one impressive soundtrack! Check out the Whomping Willow (very appropriate name!) for serious subwooferage!
Also, the Star Wars films may have edge enhancement, but their soundtracks are second to none.

Attack of the Clones, Ice Age, Pearl Harbor R1 Directors Cut, any 20th century fox 2 Disc edition, Tombstone R1 Vista Series, Fellowship of The Ring... and on and on.. the list goes ;)

It is going back a bit but I think Uncle Eric said Titan A.E. was one of the best disc to show the surround off.
The Fith Element yes but it's got to be the superbit(ripoff) version,
it's stunning, one day hopefully all transfers will be this good first time round!
I just watched Signs R2 (DTS).
Fabulous soundtrack IMO - everything from rustling leaves to dogs barking coming through the surround channels. The music came through several channels at once and was mixed very well. Dialogue was chrystal-clear as well and always at the right volume.
Don't know what the DD mix is like but I was very impressed with the DTS mix.
The picture was a bit grainy but nothing too serious. Certainly didn't make me enjoy the film any less.

I have the none superbit edition and the picture is still stunning IMO. Vibrant colours and sharp visuals.
