All,

A bit of a warning if you hadnt already heard about the data corruption bug that affects WHS.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/946676/en-us

I've had WHS apparently running fine since it was released with over a terabyte of films/music/software etc held on it. And even after reading about the data bug I thought it wouldnt affect me as I followed the advice in the above article.

Yesterday I bought a new hard drive for my main PC and decided to copy over the media from the WHS, It was only then that I found about 25% of ALL files on the server were corrupt with errors such as "Invalid file handle".

I'm slightly peeved to say the least, and have ditched WHS. The moral of the story is that you may also have corrupted date but you wont know until you try and access it, which wasnt very often in my case but its a big deal when you've lost some crucial stuff. Luckily, I have the really important stuff backed up elsewhere but I think the bug that microsoft says only affects certain users and isnt a problem, maybe a much bigger problem than they let on!

Typical MS always down play issues

Look at the Xbox 360 debacle!

I've had the data corruption bug with only one HDD in my WHS even though MS clearly state that it only affects people with multiple HDD!
