hi i have windows xp can someone tell me if windows firewall will protect my computer plus windows defender and avg anti virus yours rexleroy

Your current setup will give you basic protection, yes. But the main drawback of the XP built-in firewall is that it blocks inbound attacks only and doesn't filter outbound traffic.

Personally I'd keep AVG and Windows Defender, but disable the XP firewall and install something like Zone Alarm, which filters traffic in both directions and is generally more secure.

I use Zone Alarm as I like to block outbound traffic on a per program basis.
