Point of interest to Quatermass fans I was in MVC this morning and I saw that they had a Quatermass twin box set of Quatermass Experiment and Quatermass II.
Shame they did not include Quatermass and the Pit in the set.

That brings back memories. The nation used to shut down to watch Quatermass on the box. The films were much more polished but the impact of the original T.V. series was (were) phenomenal.

I would like to get hold of the original TV series I motioned in an other thread I saw an episode of Quatermas II a few years back and it was griping. One of the scenes they had a family with children picnicking near the plant where the aliens were. On his way to the plant Quatermas passes some armed security guards later I think you see the family dead in the back of a lorry. Which for the time must have been very shocking.
I once was at a mart and some one was selling a VHS of the full series where he got it I do not know, I wish I was not so honest as I would have like to have had a copy of it.

I remember it being on the telly but was always told to go to bed just as it started- I would be interested to see what I was missing as everyone else at school around the time raved about it. Quatermass and the pit? Is that the film where the grass hopper martians take over London?

The original "Quatermass and the Pit" T.V. series is still available on a B.B.C. VHS tape.

I remember a series of this about 20 years ago I think starring John Mills as quatermass where law and order had broken down. The world had been taken over by hippies who worshipped a light which came from space.
Enjoyed it at the time but would probably look a bit outdated if you saw it now.

I remember that one rigman. Something to do with lay lines.
All together now,
"huffity puffity ringstone round
if you lose your hat it will never be found
so pull up your trousers right up to your chin
fasten your jacket with a shiny new pin
huffity puffity ringstone round
huff puff huff"

Not worth watching in my opinion. Nothing like the atmosphere of the three series from the fifties.

Same here I saw it recently and I had to switch of I found it was boring. It was more like a post apocalyptical and anarchy story than invaders.:thumbsdow :(
Does any one know what music was used in the TV series it seemed to be used a lot in them days. The only piece I know is Mars by Holst.
