DIY Touchscreen Mount

DIY Touchscreen mount

After purchasing a 3m Chassis mount 17" Touchscreen LCD off the for sale section of these very forums I had to decide how to mount it ???

I didn't want to go through the hassle of fitting this 17" Touchscreen in the wall and chasing the cables in and re-plastering etc., so I bought a 5 x 2 ft sheet of mdf to use as a false wall and mount the screen in that and then add a frame to the screen.

Pics:

All that remains is to mount the whole thing to the wall and then paint it. The main sheet of mdf will be painted the same colour as the wall but as yet i'm undecided on what colour to paint the frame around the screen ???

Cheers
Bry

Interesting setup. Do you plan to control your equipment with the Touchcreen. I have been looking for a reasonably priced 17" touchscreen for a while. Can you please provide information on where you got yours from the cost and whether there are still any left.

Looks pretty cool Bry.

I don't think you need any other colour other than the wall colour for the board. Just needs mounting up.

Post up some pics when it's done.

This is it mounted to wall

Think I will leave the frame round the screen plain as it looks OK

Missus is pleased with the screensaver of arty pics (monet etc) so she is happy
I have had to resize them all to 1280 x 1024 to match the screen so I don't get the little black borders top and bottom.

Karl missus said I can't have the sort of screensaver you suggested
