Hi, I currently have freesat from sky and will be changing to the new freesat next week (so I can ger E4/more4). The previous owners of my house has Sky+ installed and there are 2 aerial cables coming from my dish into the living room (only one of which is pugged into my sky box).
There is also 2 aerial cables from the dish going into the spare room upstairs (is this been sky multiroom).
Anyway will I be able to buy 2 freesat boxes and have 1 in the living room and 1 in the spare room?

Thanks

When E4 and More4 go FTA your SKY box will also allow you to watch them so only spend money on a new box if something else is required.

From how you describe it the dish has a QUAD LNB with 4 outputs already hooked up so if everything is working ok that is 4 single tuner Freesat boxes or a combination of boxes.
I would seriously recommend a DVR option (when offered), it really does make a huge difference to watching broadcast TV:)

Thats good news, could I just buy another sky box frm ebay and put that upstairs then?

I would personally wait just a little longer and get a Freesat box with PVR functions, that will need two inputs from the dish. Even if you get a Ebay Sky box you still need a card to put in it to get anything (£20 from Sky).

Actually you get almost everything (except C4, Five and a couple of others) with no card at all!

but come next tuesday will these be available without a card? Could I just put my existing card in the new box to tell it what region I am in then remove it again?

Not via the Sky EPG it isn't! There is one special version of C4 which is FTA - this would have to be manually tuned on a Sky receiver.
