Ability to mount a south facing satellite dish - exactly as is required for Sky!

Re: Newbie Freesat questions

I'm also in some woodland and receive sky and lots more without a problem. As long as you can "see" south(ish) clear at an angle of around 20-30deg to horizontal you should be ok. Further north you are the lower the angle.

You can always position the dish higher (on the roof) if necessary.

Re: Newbie Freesat questions

As long as where you want to mount the dish has clear view of the sun (and a bit below it) at 11.30 a.m. BST and is in clear sunlight (when it shines) you should have no problem.

Woodland won't be a problem - unless you are VERY close to the trees!

I once went hiking in North Wales and there a farmhouse had it's Sky dish about 100yards from the house - but that was to clear a mountain between them and south!
