Why is this happening and how do I fix it?

Does your system actually boot OK after the 2 minutes pause?
My Vista 32 did the same when I popped in a USB flash drive (configured for ReadyBoost), but the system would hang and not boot at all until I removed the flash drive. What happened was that for some mysterious reason the Bios had changed the Boot Priority sequence to USB first and HDD second..... so I changed the settings in the Bios and now boots ok even with the flash drive in.
