Just been having a play around with bbc i player http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/ works fine even though it says it is only available for windows. Only problem is i cant watch it in full screen, just wondering if it was my setup or is it a linux thing!?
Does it work full screen on anyone else's?
Im using nvidia 7600gs card with drivers that were loaded by ''envy'' http://albertomilone.com/nvidia_scripts1.html
Using linux mint and don't seem to have any problems with movie\music film etc on full screen, not a major problem but just checking before i start messing around and then find out it can't be done.

Yep, the only works on windows bit is purely to do with the download service for you to watch offline. Streaming support is included for Linux provided you are using a compatible browser/media plugin.
What browser and media player are you using?

OK So i messed up  :)
Was slightly missled by a certain :( ''PC MAGAZINE'' That has done a item on ''BBC IPLAYER''
QUOTE ''And yet the iplayer has been knocked for concentrating on windows, although a version for the iphone has been developed (''we're looking at a number of options for linux and mac, including the next suite of adobe air products, sometime this year,'') etc etc....
but thought what the hell i will try anyway.
I Think that is going to put people off, or at least another reason to bash linux osx and praise windows! not me by the way :)

You know the thing that really hacks me off about this whole iPlayer malarkey is that they said they would not develop a full Linux version as it was a niche market.
What an absolute joke, do the BBC seriously believe that there are more people who want to access iPlayer on the iPhone and the Nintendo Wii (yes there is a Wii version) than on a Linux PC?
Are they so short-sighted that they have forgotten that Linux powers many mobile internet devices?
Me thinks there is other politics in play here.....
