Help with Onkyo TX SR605 and Speakers

I am a complete newby to cinema surround and I am looking at the Onkyo TX SR605. My questions are these:
1. Can anyone recommend some good looking speakers that will fill a big room for around £800? I am told that for big rooms you cant really go for the compact speakers no matter how good the manufacturers say they area s you ened big speaker to shift a lot of air? But my wife wont let me turn the living room into a stadium so tehy need to be fairly good looking and slim!
2. If I plug my Xbox 360 into the component input on the receiver will it ourput to my TV via the HDMI output or do I need to connect a component cable from the receiver to the TV?

Hi Antmania,

Have heard good things about the Quad L-ite speaker set, which are on Superfi at £499.
The onkyo should be able to send all the signals over the HDMI even from component. Just make sure that you set them up in the menu's correctly.

If you want bass then usually you need to move a lot of air which usually means big (or bigger) speakers. Can you put the rear speakers high up so they are out of the eyeline or paint them?
