Poster on Digital Spy (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=709680) says it works.
Someone in this Blog (http://dalelane.co.uk/blog/?p=210) says that they haven't seen it work yet. You may have to wait for the XP OS version to come out.

Hi Elliot, I too have the eee, and have working the 3 Modem dongle and it works great, apparently the only modem that works is the white Huawei E220
i have tried the black one with no joy. when you plug it into the usb unlike on a windows system that detects and installs the drivers the linux doesn't and just see's it has a drive, just ignore it and go into settings and follow the wizzard for new connection and from the drop down list pick your device, mobile network etc and away you go.

Hope this helps
