Hi

I saw this website and just wondered what it was, it doesn't have any sky channels?

http://www.freesatfromsky.co.uk/

Re: What is freesat from sky?

It's been around in one form or another for years.
It's a SKY sourced non-subscription digital satellite system using SKY proprietary boxes with their EPG and the smartcard which has allowed the CH4 and Five channels to be viewed along with SKY3. You can buy a complete system for £150 installed or do it yourself and then get the smartcard for a one off £20 fee. Exactly how this product will evolve after Freesat launches and CH4 (maybe even Five) no longer need a smartcard is unknown.

So basically yes it's the same thing as a Freesat SD package but with a few minor differences.

With Freesat so close then yes, let the initial Freesat products launch and see what they can offer both in terms of SD and HD (with or without installation) and then see if SKY react.

If you are new to satellite and have zero interest in PAY telly then it's likely the Freesat options will be better given they are closely related style and use wise with the proven Freeview hardware which more people are used to using.
