Should I buy an iPhone?
I've got that slightly hot feeling in my head again that means I might be about to make a major purchase . . .
If I buy a £169 iphone and use pwnage to unlock it I can stick a PAYG Orange sim card in. What would I miss out on though? (What is visual voicemail anyway?) Is the performance on GPRS/EDGE any good? Would Google Maps work? Can a jailbroken iPhone still synch with iTunes etc? Can you access any WiFi at all without a contract?

Re: Should I buy an iPhone?
Thanks - I had already read that one, but most of the OPs questions weren't answered. He seemed to lose interest once he'd bought one which is fair enough!

Re: Should I buy an iPhone?
I love visual voicemail. Jotting down those numbers has never been easier, nor seeing how many voice mail messages you have prior to phoning in....
But if you are already in a contract that is all academic anyway...

Re: Should I buy an iPhone?
Oh God - I'm going to have to buy one aren't I?
Going to have to sell my PSP, my old Nokia 6230 and anything else I can think of first to keep my wife happy . . .

Re: Should I buy an iPhone?
I am so weak minded - I've bought it and unlocked with pwnage which was a bit hair raising, but I'm happy that I can return under warranty if I need to.
It is nice mind.

Re: Should I buy an iPhone?
i'm thinking of getting the iphone too but not exactly sure if i should get one now or wait for the 3G iphone (whatever 3g is...)
excuse me if this sounds really stupid...
so, should i wait a wee bit longer or just go and buy the iphone now??
p.s. will go for the higher memory spec just so i have the option to add more tunes....

Re: Should I buy an iPhone?
So you're willing to pay an extra £160 just for an additional 8GB of memory?! You do realise the 8GB version has just had it's price slashed by £100 whereas the 16GB version still costs £330! Not worth paying an extra £160 for 8GB extra memory
