These clips are huuuge for like 20 seconds worth of HD video but they do look awesome.
I havent had too much success though. I downloaded a clip of Michelle Branch and the video was jerking. Oh and how the hell do you rename the files in XP for the 2nd link?
My PC should be able to play them smoothly.
I have Athlon 1800 XP, Radeon 8500, 256mb 2100 DDR ram and a kick ass Sony G520 21" monitor capable of displaying hdtv. It just wont run smoothly.
Maybe i will get some other clips later.

It won't work on my pc either, a p4 2.53, with 512mb ddr ram and a 64mb geforce 4 card. It plays but misses frames. Strangely if you press pause the audio cuts out and for a short moment the video runs normally.

Also jerky - but nice resolution - 2 GHz P4 , 512 MB RAM + ATI Radeon 8500-128.
I can understand why it chokes most PCs - it's 60fps and 1280 x 720.
I was using the Elecard codec that I also use for 4:2:2 video from satellite links (I have 2 PCI satellite cards in my PC).May try with alternative codecs later.
So I wonder which codecs you have been using ?

I think I'll wait until I'm back at Uni before giving this a go.
Home PC:
AMD Duron 800, 64mb Kyro II, 512kb ADSL
Uni PC:
AMD Athlon XP 2000+, 128mb GF4 Ti4400, 10Mb LAN.
Should download and run much quicker.

Forgive my ignorance, but how do I play these files? I have downloaded a .ts file but I'm not sure what to do with it.
I've tried renaming it to a .mpeg and playing it through Media Player 9 (and Media Player Classic) and all I get is a black screen.
I presume I'm missing a vital codec? I have the Ace Mega Codecs pack installed FYI.

Nevermind, I've found a couple of players that will do the trick.
I don't suppose there is a codec or something that will allow me to play them in my favourite players instead? (Such as Media Player Classic etc)

Three Amigos played OK on a 2.8GHz P4 with dual PC400 DDR (not my home machine unfortunately). I tried it at 1920 X 1440 screen resolution (gives 1920 X 1080 in the central 16:9 region) and at 1280 X 960 (for 1280 X 720). I couldn't see much difference, though I'm not sure what the original resolution was. The monitor was 22", so may not have been up to the full resolution.

Ok, I've tried Three Amigos on a couple of machines now:-
Work machine : XP2000+ on an nForce 220d mobo, onboard GF2 MX graphics, 512MB PC2100, onboard Soundstorm audio.
Very jerky. Audio very broken and slow. Destroys the system basically.
My machine : XP2100@2700+ on an nForce2 board, 512MB PC3200, ATI Radeon 9500 Pro 128MB, onboard Soundstorm audio (with SPDIF)
Reasonably smooth, but frames definately missing. Audio perfect.
Decoder cards sound sensible at the moment (do they exist?), although by the time HDTV really takes off people will have much beefier machines at a guess.

I played the Beyonce and Beautiful Creatures clips on my 1.3 Duron HTPC and they seemed to run OK. The Beyonce one had some combing issues but I think that was to do with the recording.
I was surprised they ran at all to be honest.
I can't wait till Hi Def or whatever format wins gets here now, as it looks pretty amazing compared to ropey ol' DVD. :)
Gary.
can anyone else still access the site?
i know it was only updated recently(the beyonce clip is only a few weeks old)
or does anyone have any other hdtv clip links (actual clips from us tv, i seem to have most of the "demo" stuff)

No, seriously, I can't access the HD clips either, says page doesn't exist... if anyone could post any of those clips to be shared it would be great (guess which one I'd rather see shared...? )
