Error Package download failed

Evening all,

I am trying to install some programs but when I go to download new items I get the error message "Error Package download failed"

I have tried searching and can't see anything about it.

What am I doing wrong?

coz i had the same for a few too.

I have tried about 20 and it happens on all of them.

Safari works fine so it can't be the wifi connection.

two problems i had, same as yours russell

try to install the iradio version 1.0b4
get a box come up, Error package download failed!
iradio crashing fix, version 1.0
try installing that, error package download...


tried to install avplayer, but it says you need to install mobilefinder package first.
so ive gone to install mobile finder v.1.8.0 the one for versions 1.1.3/4
i thought it was installing until a error box main script execution failed.

Sounds like you are running out of space on the app partition, use bosstool to move your fonts and ringtones.

If bosstool wont install you'll have to uninstall some apps to make some space for it.

The only app I have been able to install though is Isim.

I only have the standard ringtones so surely it cannot already be full.

Its very possible, give bosstool a whirl.

That is the main problem, I can't download anything from there.

well i cant see 1 app doing it ?

i have extra 11 icons.... i guess 11 installed app's so far.

Sounds like your installer may have a problem, may be worth Restoring and reunlocking.

I have had this problem with the GBA emulator (gpsphone) and the ps1 emulator (psx4all i think). The thing is, once it buggers up once, you wont be able to install anything untill you propperly shutdown installer. If you look at the top of your phone after you get the error, the twirly thing keeps spinning even though you aren't downloading anything.

So when that happens, hold the home button until Installer goes away, then open it up again and you can download a something else without the error.

Has anybody else had problems with the emulators? I can never seem to download them, I think there is something wrong with my source.

I will check that out.

If it is just the emmulators I will be gutted as they are the main things I wanted.

Well i can get the SNES emulator. I really want the PS1 emulator for GTA1, I love that game!

well i uninstalled simport. as i guess once you use it once you dont need it anymore.

gave me some room to install bosstool.

it showed , 35mb free out of 300mb for os contents.


so i moved ringtones... now have 37mb....

moved fonts....... now got 121mb..

could do applications

but il see if i can get what i want installed without problems now..
