ive been a mobile user for a very long time and am not quite the techy person when it comes to them . so my question is
"what is 3g and what will it do for the iphone " .
im asking cause do i buy now ( price reduction ? ) or wait for 3g hopefully your answers will help me decide !

I have no idea, sounds a bit off to me to be honest.
"Some guy in the Carphone Warehouse has seen the new prices", hmmm they didnt even know the 16gig iphone was out when my brother went to see them a week after it had been released! :grin:
Lets wait and see shall we, I can see a price drop but a third off seems a bit heavy to me.

there is the ability to have video calls (Which is not a function on the current iPhone), but yes that was about it. In relation to what the major phones companies paid for their 3G licenses, it has to be one of the biggest let downs in mobile history. 3G failed the hype it was given in all respects.

It just depends whether you plan to use the Internet quite a bit on the move? You'll notice a big improvement browsing over 3G compared to EDGE

i think wait if you can, as once the 3g ones are out then you can decide what extra features the iphone will have (apart from the quick speeds) also the prices of the edge ones will drop, as eveyone wants to upgrade to the newer one.
also allows picture messages as well I believe (although there is a work around app called swirly mms)
