iphone wifi problems

so i finally get things sorted, and its time to connect to a wifi network...

i go into settings-wifi-and search, it finds it and when i click on it to connect it says unable to connect

and every time i click on safari it just moans that im not subscribed to edge, i just want it to work... is the anything more that i should be doing to connect to this wifi network like changing dns settings

or should it just work by clicking connect

step by step would be cool if anyone's got time

its an unlocked own router, well ive tried a few at work too and they don't work ether

mine worked straight out of the box try syncing it first in itunes

done all that its synced it recognises them.... but just says can't connect

ive even looked at the settings and the ip addresses are there

are you using ziphone because iv a funny feeling that that's the problem but i am using 3.0

theres a wifi fix in ziphone 3 run that through it

aaarrrgg it just says unable to connect

and when i click on safari it comes up with the edge warning then the can't find server

i read something about the iphone trying to use the router as its own dns server, and that's why it fails but following these steps does not work

just put the ziphone software on your laptop again and just click the wifi fix try that

i don't want to run the ziphone fix as the description of my problem is not the one in ziphone

my wifi is working and finds sources, and is not grayed out

so its something ive done or not doing

i see but i didnt need to touch anything wifi wise i turned my iphone on and there it was dlink which is my router

i don't have wifi at home per say............

but 4 or 5 people around me do but the signal strength is low

i know its wrong but its for trouble shooting and not for surfing :devil:

one of my neighbours said something to me that made me chuckle....

he said
"i think everyone's nicking my wifi for there own use

he's locked it now and renamed it ---NO FREELOADERS---

right im not having a problem with wifi because of ziphone.....
the problems will not be solved by using Pwnage....

all im wanting to know is what goes in all the boxes....eg

when i connect to a wifi spot which i can...when i expand it by pressing the little blue triangle to the right im faced with 6 boxes

two are filled with numbers-- IP ADDRESS and SUBNET MASK and iv been told that all the others have to be filled too

they say

Router
DNS
Search domains
client iD

they are under the DCHP heading...what do i put in these fields

the HTTP Proxy is set to auto

and the url at the bottom of page is empty
