best way to set up quad lites and 605

Hi, im after the very best way to set up the lites and onkyo 605.

I have used a tape measure to get the distance right. Whats next.......frequency?

Have also seen that getting an spl meter will make a big improvement on the sub. can anyone recommend a good one that isnt to costly and what software and cable i will need. and maybe a guide on what to do.
