DUN for TomTom

Hi all,

is it possible to get DUN working on the iPhone so that TomTom devices can access traffic info?

I have searched the net and found some instances where people seem to have got DUN working from macs but that seems a very manual (and technical!) process.

The bluetooth pairing for hands free calling and phone book access etc seems fine. I need to get DUN enabled so it just works without any fiddling every time I want to use the TomTom....

Nope, every Tom Tom works differently with the iphone (some wont allow address book sync, etc) but as far as I know none of them allow Traffic Updates.

Dun is not possible unless you develop and build the stack yourself. The examples you hve read about are slightly bending the truth since they rely on a telnet connection to a host computer and most defintely don work direct for other Bluetooth devices.

I was able to get handsfree, phonebook and SMS done with my tomtom 910. But since a software update on my tomtom that is now no longer possible. SMS that is. Phonebook should in theory also not possible but the tomtom people havb implemented a pull protocol which does work.

Your best bet will be waiting on the tomtom version for the iPhone. Or get the hd receiver from tomtom.
