contract or hacked o2 payg/30 day contract

I am looking to get the i phone,
however my credit is bad from being a silly boy and living at a silly address,

Now i either plan on buying an i phone from the forums for example, which will be unlocked, and use either an o2 payg, or the o2 30 day contract sim (with data hopefully) which i will get via my partner

However i heard that the credit check is a lot more relaxed when taking out the i phone, is this true?

no credit check when u buy it just need to be on Debit card or credit card. can't buy it with cash from o2 shop,
thing credit check is when you take the contract.

i am in the same situation so if i buy the iphone for £169 and want to unlock it to use in my orange sim

i wont have to go through a credit check only if i proceed with the o2 contract
