Re: VAT Claim -Bit Confused

ER you have to pay VAT on everything (except for certain goods zero rated and services), If you were building a cinema to be a commercial venture you could claim it back as a VAT registered business but other than that yes even under the new build homes or complete refrub rules cinemas arent classed as esseintial and you cant claim the VAT back.

HD Beat me to it, while I was thinking about my wording.

Legally Yes

Unless you are doing a complete new house build then the rules on new build vat reclaims do get a lot more complicated and you should take proper tax advise.

Re: VAT Claim -Bit Confused

It is not what is built it, it is what is classed by the tax man as a luxury.

Interesting Computer networking is 0 rated on new builds, when music is not.
