Hi guys im new to Linux i've been wanting to try it out for a while and i am quite impressed with Damn Small Linux. I want to install it on an old computer thats really slow and crappy on windows but will run perfect on DSL. I have downloaded the ISO disc image but im just wondering do you need to extract the files from the disc image or do i just burn the ISO straight to disc??

No need to extract files, just burn the ISO image to CD and boot the old computer from it.

There's a howto guide here (http://www.petri.co.il/how_to_write_iso_files_to_cd.htm), detailing how to burn an ISO image to CD using the most common Windows CD writing software.

If you need 2 ask, then stay with your MS crap Windows.
If you need help with a ISO then your not up 2 go LinuX yet.

Bit harsh don't you think? everyone has to start somewhere.

Yes i too think its a bit harsh, going off that theory then nobody would learn anything, also the ''MS crap Windows'' is only encouraging people to turn threads into ''linux v windows'' or ''OSX V Win'' hate it when that happens as helps nobody!!
