The new iPhone sub-forum allows users to post their own threads instead of us sticking to "all questions here" type threads which were becoming very cumbersome, but saying that it is good to try to keep everything together as much as possible so people know where to look.
So if you have a general iPhone question then this should be the first place you start :)

Hi there. New to the forum so be gentle :)
I am looking to buy an iphone for my wife. The usage would be basic, calls, texts, pictures, bit of browsing etc. She already has an O2 contract on her existing phone and sim. I regularly visit the US and have seen a number of articles that have deterred me from buying one there and bringing it back. I don't really want to pay the UK prices as she really does not use the phone much but would use an iphone more given it's capabilities. I have a number of questions so if I may, I'll ask them here and if anyone can help me I'd appreciate it.
1. Given the above info should I buy a phone in the US?
2. If so, can I use it in the UK with her existing sim?
3. What do I lose if I do this?
Many thanks for your help.

Wouldn't completely quote me on this, but:
1. Given the above info should I buy a phone in the US?
Totally up to you depending on the following
2. If so, can I use it in the UK with her existing sim?
You can by performing an unlock/activate/jailbreak using ZiPhone, very easy process.
3. What do I lose if I do this?
As far as I know, Visual Voice mail, any chance of it getting legitimately repaired if anything goes wrong (guarantee void) and you would need to buy an internet bolt-on for the existing contract, or be prepared to pay extornionate bills.
Hope this helps:thumbsup:

In waiting for the 3g iPhone I have a iPhone now but the edge takes a long time to load a page
If the edge is slow what will 3g coverage be like all accross the I'm
will I get 3g coverage
O2 are working now on 3g coverage the edge now is forgotten
They have to make sure 3g is there
They said that for the edge
