Is my RAM a bottle neck ?

Understanding Memory has never been one of my strong points and I'd like some advice as to whether or not I should upgrade.

I have a Shuttle SP35P2 Pro running with 2 Gig (4 sticks) of Corsair TWIN2X1024A-5400UL with stock timings of 3-3-2-8 at 675MHz.

Would I notice a marked improvement in upgrading my memory ? The shuttle can take 4 x 240pin DDR2 DIMM slots,2GB per DIMM(Max 8GB) Support Dual channel DDR2 667/800

I tend to use my Shuttle for Gaming (CIV 4 & TF2) and Vista Media Centre.

Re: Is my RAM a bottle neck ?

you may notice a difference by putting in 800mhz ram over 667mhz and using 2 sticks over 4 but you dont say what OS your using and unless its x64 then you would be wasting money.

best bet is to buy 2x1gb 800mhz and see how you go

Re: Is my RAM a bottle neck ?

64 bit os will therefore recognise 4gb in full - so i would suggest 4gb (2 x 2gb) would be a great upgrade but you won't notice a massive difference but you will see a general increase in speed of your system.
