GT200 to become 9900GTX and 9900GX2, launch date set to July

According to our sources, GT200’s final product name and launch day have been set. Two NVIDIA GeForce card will use the core, they are 9900GX2 and 9900GTX.

It is similar to today’s NV tactic: 9900GX2 just like todays 9800GX2, it is a two GPU product, and 9900GTX is a conventional single GPU product. Source mentions that both cards will be announce in July. In previous rumors, words have it that NV will improve G9X core by rolling out GT200. But detailed information still unknown.

I read it but think it may not in July as it mentioned from Q3 which mean between July-Sept -- Nvidia may delay for extra few months later. I keep my 2 x Nvidia GF9600GT (SLi) just now until later cos ATI will release new R800 and Nvidia release next card by next year... it up to you if you interesting to buy one when it come out -- it too early to say when...

Releasing so soon after the 9800 will surely impact a lot on them - who is going to buy a 9800 when they can have a 9900?

I'm very curious how they'll price these as the 9800gx2 is approx £400 - is it going to be discounted or will the new versions be even more than that?

I just hope its not the same tech as we have now on an even small die ie 55nm. If they do this they should be taken outside and shot.

If your not in the know about these cards its a total mine field out there and I really do feel sorry for anyone with no knowledge looking for a new card.

Fingers crossed its new architecture on a smaller die and it comes soon.
