i am looking to buy a 32" tv and was wondering whether buying a 1080 model would make much difference at around 5or6 feet viewing distance

i have been reading around and apparently the 1080 lcds give an inferior picture on sd to their hd counterparts.. mainly the complaints of 'blocking' with the new samsung range

any help greatly appreciated

Check SafeRat's thread here:

At your distance, you may actually notice the difference with 1080p... but you need the proper feed as well you're right! Poor content will show even more on 1080p I think.

Have a look here as well (very educating)
