Hey peeps, already tired of using this crappy old 15" 4:3 TFT monitor for my 360 now and I've spied this Samsung SM931BW 19" Monitor.

http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/-/653/860/-/3357297/Samsung-Syncmaster-SM931BW-19-Widescreen-LCD-Flat-Panel-Monitor/Product.html?searchtype=genre

Seems like it's pretty good value for £150? 19" is as big as I want to go, and I can't afford a full HDTV just for the 360 so would this be a decent upgrade from what I've got now?

I understand it's 16:10 instead of 16:9 which will either cause black bars or a stretched image...how can you decide which? Is that down to the game and the monitor? As I don't mind black bars but I really don't want the stretched image...what resolution would I need to choose for that?

Even if it had to stretch the image how bad would it be?

Also, I've currently got mine running 1024 x 768...will I notice any increase in sharpness and picture quality? As I feel the graphics could look much nicer than the do now....will running a similar resolution (1280x768) on this screen which isn't even it's native res just look even worse or will it be ok?

Hope somebody can help! Thanks. Smile [:)]

i use a 19" monitor with my 360, and providing you use the MS branded VGA cable and change the display settings to 1360x768 you should experience no black borders at all...

(incidentally, coming from 15" CRT 4:3 to 19" 720p widescreen you're going to be mighty impressed...so much so that any old monitor will no doubt be a treat...maybe you could consider a used Acer 19" widescreen from ebay for half the price and get some extra games for your 360 instead!)
