Sorry, yet another 'which graphic card' thread - silverstone LC16 case
I'm debating what graphic card to put in my HTPC system in order to play some reasonable games. Started fancying CoD4 but think my current gfx will bottleneck the system.
My main issue is relating to the physical size of the card being limited to about 20cm. Other threads have suggested removing the centre drive bay on the LC16, however this isn't an option as I need the optical drive.
I hope someone can recommend me something;
Current system specs;
Case - Silverstone LC16M
MoBo - ASUS P5N-E SLI
CPU - E6600
RAM - 2 x1GB OCZ special ops edition
Sound - Auzentec x-plosion
Current graphics card - Gigabyte 8500GT (Nvidia)
TV tuners and wifi etc.
running Vista home premium.
The display is via a 42" Panasonic PW7 plasma display.

You could always use an external usb DVD Burner. The LC16 is very restrictive on graphics cards. If your not bothered about gaming then you should be able to find a small card for HD media playback.

I have the same issue... I have just aquired one of these cases and my 6800gt aint fitting so need a gaming card that fits. Looking for a 9600 I think but again need smaller dimensions... Not meaning to hijack the thread but I think at £100 or just over the 9600gt is the best bang for buck there is at the min. Just need to find one with smaller dimensions...

The 8800GT is a better card as the 9600GT is a cut down 8800GT. Both are around the same sort of price. If it was me I would go for the 8800GT.
