why only 87% wireless connection?

My Netgear DG834G wireless router is currently only 1500mm away from my PC's netgear 108Mps WG511 PCi card but I'm only seeing 87% max signal strength now for a week or more .? Why is this ?
I have unplugged and reset the router and checked the aerials but no improvement.
Is this a hardware problem ? or a software issue (ie settings) how can I check or test this please

I'd put some security on there if I were you

In my experience you'll rarely see 100% from a wireless Network. You could try another card to see if that gives you better signal strength but if it's giving you the coverage you need I wouldn't worry too much about it tbh

Re: why only 87% wireless connection?

Well it looks like both them wireless networks are using the same channel (11).

Try switching one to another, un-used, channel and seeing if the reception is any better.
