I've got a jailbroken 1.1.2 iphone with payg 02 sim, that I have no problem with browsing safari/youtube fully working over edge plus weather + stocks update no problem. I got this to work by patching the settings for a payg 02 sim a few months ago when I got the phone direct from Apple UK.
Until I applied the patch and put in egde setting of :-
APN : payandgo.02.co.uk
username : payandgo
password : password
All I would get is unable to connect/no edge error type message, but after the patching/edge setting above all fine for the last 3 months..
I now want to upgrade the firmware to 1.1.4, I've done alot of reading up and have downloaded the 1.1.4 firmware and the ziphone latest version V2.6b. I've read that after I update the 1.1.2 jailbroken phone to 1.1.4 in itunes via the recovery mode method and then run the ziphone 2.6b that I will lose the edge setting option in network ?? If this is the case then how do I get my 02 payg that I have the £7.50 bolton to work in order to use google maps/youtube/safari/weather/stocks etc...
Can anyone confirm that has a 02 payg bolton that has upgraded to 1.1.4 and then used ziphone if all edge functions work correct with no error messages, and if all the apps that use edge do work, did you just click on the "do it all" option in ziphone..OR do I need to use any of the advanced options ?? Or apply any patches after the do-it-all ziphone option to get payg edge..
My phone as 1.1.2 is working great at the moment, so would love to have the new features of 1.1.4 but only if all edge apps still work...
Also what's the best method to backup contacts and then restore back when on 1.1.4 ??
