RIP, real shame and at 54 too, enjoyed his films such as Cold Mountain, and The English Patient.

Minghella's latest project, a TV comedy-drama based on the best-selling book series The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, was recently completed and is currently scheduled to air on BBC 1 over the Easter weekend.

Very sad news.

Extremely talented writer/director - the first time I was aware of his writing was 'Jim Henson's The Storyteller' with John Hurt as the titular character. Great versions of classic folk/faerie tales and very much ahead of its time I think.

I enjoyed his films too, my favourite being '...Mr Ripley'.

Fantastic director, as has been said so often on the reports, going so young he had so much more to offer.. RIP :smashin:
