Reading about film

Ive recently got really into reading film critical books.

I've read a few issued by the BFI, and a few abiut asian cinema.

Does anyone else read these kind of books? can anyone else recomend any they have read?

If you are interested in the films of the seventies, read Easy Riders, Raging Bulls. It covers the major films of the seventies from Bonnie and Clyde to Star Wars. It's not a critical book but it is fascinating. Highly recommended. :thumbsup:

I'm currently working my way through the "Oxford History of World Cinema". Heavy going but considered by some to be the bible on the subject.

David Thomson's New Biographical Dictionary of Film is something I've been reading continously for five years, entries on most of the actors/films you've heard of and those you haven't.
