My contract runs out shortly and was thinking of getting an iphone a couple of questions:
Can you sync it with outlook express for contacts and calender.
Do you have to pay the £35 a month or is there a cheaper way.
Can you run Tomtom on it ?

Many thanks

iTunes can pick up contacts and calendar from Outlook and Outlook Express, so your contacts and calendar stored in them will get sync'd straight to the iPhone.

The £35 is the cheapest contract, but you can buy an iPhone second hand and get yourself a cheaper contact and use Ziphone to unlock and jailbreak it. This is a risker way, in that you're not officially covered or supported if you do this, but should still have some form of hardware warranty. Plenty of info on this forum already about this, so no point in me repeating it. Have a read of the iPhone unlocking thread :)

And no, TomTom doesn't work on the iPhone. It does come loaded with Google maps which can give you directions, and works pretty well too. But no TomTom. The iPhone doesn't have GPS and doesn't support Bluetooth data (voice only) so the chances of it happening are slim, until a new iPhone is released or Apple allow Bluetooth data.

Hope this helps :)
