Re: Quick iphone question
there is a 3rd party app called showtime that lets you record video but only 4 seconds worth a the moment. there is issues with the refresh rate that the camera runs at apparently. the app at the moment is more a proof of concept than useable app, but hopefully they will get it working right

exactly. i've used mobile phones for about 20 years now and never had one with video recording and never felt i was missing anything. i don't even use the camera normally either

you should go to the ps3 forum, now thats a set of nevous bastards if i ever saw one.....
any way thanks to unique for the info on the camara...
I used the video fuction on my phone a lot... about 950meg so far
but now its dead... and i wan another... went to o2 shop again today to look at them again!!
he wantend to get me on a contract but i put a stop to that.....
"il buy sim free" he then goes into a long speal about itunes not working and sms not forwarding and google not woking and 802.11g wifi not responding
if i buy and unlock is it then trouble free unless i update via itunes...or will apple enevatably lock me out.
because a apple nerd at work says they will fix picture messaging via an update
sorry for confusion
thanks

Re: Quick iphone question
I think the contracts are good value for money when you consider the whole package as I use all features and like having the piece of mind that I have an official version...

He is a salesman trying to scare you. I have an iPhone that's on Vodafone (jailbroken and unlocked via Ziphone) and WiFi is flawless, internet works and everything else the phone is supposed to do, it does! The only exception to that is visual voicemail, which is O2 only.
As for updates, I recently updated from 1.1.3 to 1.1.4 via iTunes and, sure enough, it came up with a SIM card error. So I ran Ziphone again and that was cured within minutes, so I'm now running 1.1.4 on Vodafone
I can't comment on the SMS forwarding, as that's a feature of the O2 network, but I'd be amazed if it didn't work.
