The Cottage

the cottage is a new British comedy horror set in a remote part of the countryside, a bungled kidnapping (of Jennifer Ellison) turns into a living nightmare for the central characters (played by Andy Serkis and Reece Shearsmith) when they cross paths with a psychopathic farmer.

i've not heard anything about the film until i stumbled across of a review of it today. Apparently, and i'm taking the review i read with a pinch of salt, its as good a Shaun of the dead! will have to wait and see but the trailer does look fun?

TRAILER: http://www.bbc.co.uk/films/trailers/

Released 14th March

Re: The Cottage

I have known about this for sometime. I find most British Horrors to be very poor. I hate the way the media always compare the successful Shaun of the Dead with every British horror film now. They even did with the awful Severance and they were nothing like each other. It was more of a really bad comedy version of Hostel and not that funny.

Re: The Cottage

Its crap - really poor - neither funny or scary and the bit after the end credits just is so predictable and cheap looking it looks like something some teenagers have made in an attempt to make a horror film.

Re: The Cottage

The film does have some merits - although they are hard to find. Toward the end of the film i was laughing at the jokes, and was finally laughing at the 'Peter' character, rather than finding the character annoying!

What i dont understand was Jennifer Ellison role - who was she supposed to be? It appears she stepped backward to Brookside-scouse foul mouth gobby mare.

I can understand why she was there, those two reason are obvious....

For a reviewer to compare this to Shaun of the Dead,
