What is your room like? Big windows, wall coverings, carpet, wood floor etc?

For me, one of the easiest ways to damp down an over-bright system is to make the room a bit more acoustically "dead". Try hanging heavy curtains either behind the speakers, or behind the listening position - this has helped me a lot in the past. Big expanses of glass or wood floor usually make a system sound too bright for me - carpet and curtains make a big difference.

Try shutting the curtains when you listen, and invest in a couple of cheap rugs from IKEA for the floor - a bit of tweaking should damp things down nicely.

Try it the other way round, with the P90 doing the tweeters, and the A85 doing the bass & mid.

At the risk of being insensitive to your set up, but in my opinion I would suggest that the culprit could be the room but in combination with the Mission Speakers. My experience of Missions has always been a bright and splashy sounding treble, at least that is how my ears perceive them. Arcams neutrality is being coloured by the Missions?

Just a thought.

I'd agree with this - I've always found Missions far too bright-sounding. A friend used to have Mission speakers, and whenever he listened to my system, he would moan that there was "no treble" on it. In isolation, no-one ever complained about this, and there certainly seemed to be plenty of treble on it to me. I found his system extremely fatiguing to listen to, again due to the excess of treble. Unfortuantely, there isn't much the OP can do about this short of changing the speakers, but I'd agree that doing so will almost certainly fix the bright treble.
