k4 positioning

Hi all,
I just bought a pair of M&K K4's and tested them last night. Really pleased so far considering I have to place them on the window sill directly behind the sofa which is in the bay window.

I just wondered if anyone has any thoughts whether the K4's should be toed in toward the listener, fire forwards toward the tv or fire inwards towards to listener?

Re: k4 positioning

I think the general best practice is considered to be your third option, on the side walls firing in towards the listener(s) or a little behind and pointing towards the listener, but still on the side walls. This assumes we're talking about direct radiating speakers, used as side surrounds (not rear surrounds, as the extra 2 channels in a 7.1 would be). Personally, I always tend to move mine around a bit and see what works in my room, but use the above as a guideline.

Re: k4 positioning

As per Shockabuku's comments. I have mine above ear height but facing in towards me (as per M&K's manual I believe). There should be an arrow on the back of them so you know which way round they should be (I think it says which direction the front speakers should be incase you've mixed the left and right speakers up). Just to correct a minor detail; the M&K K4s are a tripole design, which helps them to produce a very wide ambient surround field.
