I'm currently looking at my Hercules Game Theatre XP breakout box with it's case off. I'm going to change the digital coax input because the solder contact for the signal pin has broken, while testing a new digital coax cable.

I went off to Maplins to have a look at bits and found a decent phono socket, similar to the type you get on high quality stereo pre-amps and the like. It's much better than the bent bit of gold plated metal that is currently soldered to the PCB.

I'm now looking at replacing all the phono sockets on the breakout box, and maybe replacing the digital phonos with BNC's, to help the signal quality.

I'd post some pics only I don't have a camera or scanner etc.
