soundproofing

i want to move my tv into a room adjoing my kitchen, the problem is that the old man blasts out the tv volume in the kitchen and the noise comes through the doors quite loudly.
the doors look like this

except they are interior.the have laminated single glazed glass but thats it.i already used draught excluder tape to help but most of the sound seems to come through the glass and i have also used curtains but they dont seem to help much.
any ideas?
thanks

Re: soundproofing

Headphones for your Dad?

Other than that, sealing all edges including at the bottom of the door to stop sound traveling through via air gaps (a solid strip of wood to make a stop and draught excluder all round), and you will have to make the gap between the doors seal as well. Solid doors would be better still but I doubt you'd want to change the doors you have.
