View Full Version : Speaker calibration with SPL

Guys,

I know how to calibrate my speakers with an SPL (Radio Shack Digital) but rememeber a point from Nic Rhodes about 'always calibrating/reset before the next reading'.

On the Radio Shack SPL, there is indeed a hole that says 'CAL'. I gather this means calibrate and wonder how I can use this to get the best and most accurate readings; if at all.

Regards,
Brad

Why? What happens? Does a small exploding device erupt causing facial damage?

Whys that then?

Because youŽll bugger it up. Better to have it reasonably accurate than not at all.:lesson: ;)

I calibrate my SP meter every month or so, it's rarely out by more than 0.5dB, so i'm not sure it's that important, from an AV perspective.
